An article Tuesday on the World Health Organization’s decision to classify video game addiction as a “gaming disorder” incorrectly characterized the American Psychiatric Association’s position and the date when it included it in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders appendix. The association found there was insufficient evidence to establish a condition in an earlier position and included it in the appendix in 2013. USA TODAY is committed to accuracy.
