@WMPolice West Midlands Police on calls to its emergency 999 number, the English equivalent of 911, after England’s victory Saturday in the World Cup.

Penalty strokes for Phil Mickelson during the PGA Tour’s A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier in West Virginia. He was on the seventh tee Sunday when he tamped down grass in front of the tee box. Although the violation appeared to be unintentional, it technically improved his line of play. He was forced to call a twostroke penalty on himself. Mickelson said he “wasn’t really thinking.” He carded a double-bogey instead of a par on the hole. The penalty followed his breach of conduct last month in the U.S. Open.
