Greta Van Fleet’s ‘When the Curtain Falls’

- Brian McCollum, USA TODAY NETWORK

A year after Greta Van Fleet roared to national rock notice, the Michigan band has issued something new for hungry fans.

“When the Curtain Falls,” the first glimpse into the group’s forthcoming debut album, is perhaps the most straightforward, accessible tune of the band’s public career, with a bobbing groove, hooky riff and lyrics taking on the shallowness of the Hollywood scene.

“When the Curtain Falls” is part of an album recorded since January. It’s due later this year, following a flurry of 2017 music that included the EP “Black Smoke Rising” and its chart-topping rock-radio songs “Highway Tune” and “Safari Song.”
