English golfer admits he was hung over in final round

-

English golfer Eddie Pepperell admitted to being a “little hung over” during his final-round 67 in the British Open on Sunday.

Pepperell held the clubhouse lead briefly and ended up tied for sixth with Tiger Woods and Kevin Chappell. His 67 was the low round of the final day.

“I was a little hung over. I won’t lie. I had too much to drink last night,” Pepperell said.

On Saturday, Pepperell shot 71 that left him frustrated. So he had some drinks with his coach, and “we just drowned our sorrows for a half hour and had a good chat with a few people.”

Later Sunday he tweeted he wasn’t “THAT drunk last night! I remember having a shower and brushing my teeth so I’d say I was fine.”

According to the European Tour, Pepperell won 281,218 Euros on Sunday, which is $329,805.
