Arizona’s Jon Kyl will return to Senate to succeed John McCain

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey has picked Jon Kyl, once one of the most powerful Republicans in the U.S. Senate, to succeed Sen. John McCain.

McCain’s widow, Cindy, tweeted her approval: “Jon Kyl is a dear friend of mine and John’s.”

Kyl agreed to serve at least through the end of the year.
