Seahawks linebacker Shaquem Griffin is more than an inspirational story.

He’s about to be a starter, at least for the time being.

The rookie, who had one hand amputated when he was 4 years old because of a congenital birth defect, will not only make his NFL debut Sunday against the Broncos, he’s going to start at weakside linebacker in place of injured K.J. Wright.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll confirmed the news Wednesday during a news conference.

Wright, a 2016 Pro Bowler, is recovering from knee surgery and will likely reclaim his position as a starter once he’s fully healthy.

Griffin, the Central Florida product whom the Seahawks selected in the fifth round of the draft this year with the No. 141 overall pick, played well in the preseason.

He paced the team with 24 total tackles and also recorded one tackle for a loss.

Griffin’s 14 solo tackles also led the Seahawks.

Griffin’s twin brother, Shaquill, is a cornerback for Seattle and will also start Sunday.
