LAST WORD

-

Wow, NFL first game ratings are way down over an already really bad last year comparison. Viewership declined 13%, the lowest in over a decade. If the players stood proudly for our Flag and Anthem, and it is all shown on broadcast, maybe ratings could come back? Otherwise worse!

President Donald Trump on Twitter Sunday about Thursday’s Falcons-Eagles game, which was delayed for 45 minutes because of storms. The game posted a 13.4/25 overnight rating. That is 13% worse than last year’s opener between New England and Kansas City. The anthem was shown by NBC. No players knelt, but Eagles DE Michael Bennett sat. After Trump’s tweet, Miami WRs Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson became the first players of the 2018 season to kneel.
