JACK MA TO STEP DOWN AS ALIBABA CHAIR IN 2019
Jack Ma, who founded China e-commerce giant Alibaba Group and helped launch the Asian nation’s online retailing boom, on Monday announced he will step down as the company’s chairman next September. Ma said in a letter released by the company that he will be succeeded by CEO Daniel Zhang, an 11-year Alibaba veteran. Ma, a former English teacher, founded Alibaba in 1999.
