Pentagon: Suspicious substance in envelopes was castor seeds
A Pentagon spokeswoman said a suspicious substance found in envelopes turned over to the FBI contained the substance from which the poison ricin is derived but not ricin itself.
Pentagon spokeswoman Dana White said Wednesday that the substance was castor seeds. Tuesday, Pentagon officials said two envelopes suspected of containing ricin were sent to the FBI.
