Syria’s Assad: ‘Understanding’ reached with Arab states
President Bashar Assad told Al-Shahed, a Kuwaiti newspaper, that Syria reached a “major understanding” with Arab states after years of hostility over the country’s civil war.
Assad didn’t name the Arab countries but said delegations visited Syria to prepare to reopen diplomatic and other missions. Syria’s membership in the 22-member Arab League was suspended early in the war, and Arab countries imposed economic sanctions.
