Four undecided senators to decide Supreme Court nominee’s future

Republicans, who hold a 51-49 majority in the Senate, do not need support from Democrats to approve Brett Kavanaugh. But Senate Republicans cannot lose more than one vote from their party, meaning Kavanaugh’s fate rests with a handful of undecided senators.

If the Senate deadlocks 50 to 50, Vice President Mike Pence would cast the deciding vote, in favor of Kavanaugh.
