Navy vet confesses to sending suspicious mail, officials say
A Utah Navy veteran confessed to sending four envelopes containing the substance from which ricin is derived to President Donald Trump and members of his administration, authorities said in court documents.
William Clyde Allen III, 39, confessed after he was arrested at his home in Logan, north of Salt Lake City, according to court documents filed Wednesday night. He told them he had bought castor beans and sent the letters containing the beans. He was being held on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
JFK Airport will get two new terminals in $13B renovation
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Thursday that John F. Kennedy International Airport will go from an aging facility into a world-class air travel hub in a seven-year, $13 billion transformation. Cuomo said the rebuilt JFK Airport will feature two new international terminals, centralized ground transportation and better roads.

Houston’s City Council unanimously passed an ordinance Wednesday that effectively blocks a proposed “sex robot brothel” from opening.
A Canadian company had hoped to open a location in Houston and even started construction before running into permit issues that halted work. A petition against the business gained more than 10,000 signatures.
Philippine leader says there’s a possibility he has cancer
Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said Thursday that he might have cancer and added that “I don’t know where I’m now physically.”
Duterte said in a speech in Manila that he underwent an endoscopy and colonoscopy about three weeks ago, but his doctor was advised this week to repeat the tests.
