SALMONELLA, LISTERIA SPUR RECALL OF BEEF, HAM
JBS Tolleson of Tolleson, Arizona, is recalling 6.5 million pounds of beef products because of salmonella fears. Consumers should look for meat packaged between July 26 and Sept. 7, with “EST. 267” printed within the USDA’s inspection mark. Also, a North Carolina company is recalling more than 89,000 pounds of ready-to-eat deli-loaf ham products that may be contaminated with listeria and which have been blamed for one death. Johnston County Hams has recalled the products, produced between April 3, 2017, and Oct. 2, 2018. The 7- to 8-pound items were sent to distributors in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, New York and Maryland.
