Americans win economics Nobel for work on climate, growth

The Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences was awarded Monday to an American who studied the economics of climate change – and another whose research on technologi­cal innovation raised hopes that human beings are creative enough to do something about it.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences gave the $1 million prize to William Nordhaus of Yale University and Paul Romer of New York University.
