WAFFLE HOUSE CLOSES 18 RESTAURANTS FOR STORM
Waffle House is known for staying open during some of the worst natural disasters, but the restaurant chain had shut down 18 restaurants in Florida before Hurricane Michael made landfall Wednesday. Waffle House restaurants rarely close, often providing food and resources to first responders during natural disasters. The closed restaurants, located in Florida evacuation zones from Panama City to Destin, won’t be closed for very long, said Pat Warner, director of personal relations for Waffle House. “We will be there right after the storm to reopen,” he said.
