These 2018 movies had that $200 million magic

Which movies topped $200 million at the box office in 2018? Some of them might surprise you.

❚ First up: Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga wowed audiences with their “A Star Is Born” remake, which raked in

$200.4 million.

❚ Tom Hardy starred as the carnivorou­s alien in “Venom,” which made more than $213 million.

❚ “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” the Han Solo prequel starring Alden Ehrenreich, brought in $213.8 million. It wasn’t considered a major success compared with the franchise’s previous installmen­ts, though making 2018’s top 10 should count for something.

❚ Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly played the titular heroes in the sequel “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” which collected $216.6 million.

❚ Tom Cruise led the summer action flick “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” to a $220.2 million gross.

❚ You’re a blockbuste­r, Mr. Grinch! Benedict Cumberbatc­h’s new animated “The Grinch” has tallied $259.6 million since Thanksgivi­ng.

❚ Ryan Reynolds reprised his starring role in “Deadpool 2,” which made

$318.5 million.

❚ “Jurassic Park” lives on in the Chris Pratt-led “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.” The franchise’s latest installmen­t made $416.8 million.

❚ Pixar waited 14 years to make a sequel to “The Incredible­s,” and it paid off, literally. “Incredible­s 2” grossed

$608.6 million.

❚ The second-biggest moneymaker in Hollywood this year: Marvel’s superhero crossover “Avengers: Infinity War” finished with $678.8 million.

❚ At No. 1: The highest-grossing movie of 2018 was February’s “Black Panther,” which brought in $700.1 million. Wakanda Forever, indeed.
