Items passengers leave in Uber

From dogs to laundry, riders are forgetful.

- Rasha Ali

Sure, forgetting your keys or phone in the backseat of an Uber is admissible, but what about an 8-weekold Chihuahua or a handmade cat puppet?

Uber released its annual list of Lost and Found items that have been forgotten during rides, and it includes everything from headphones (we can relate) to a Lego championship wrestling belt (can’t say we’ve left any of those behind before).

The rideshare company compiled a list of 50 of the most “outrageous” items people have left behind, and let’s just say we have questions. A Harry Potter fan or possibly a Hogwarts student, we’ll never know, left behind a Harry Potter magic wand.

Another passenger, who we can only assume was a new mom deprived of sleep, forgot a breast pump with breast milk. Someone else forgot a black-and-white tuxedo meant for a small dog, and we can only hope that it wasn’t for the 8-week-old Chihuahua that was also left behind. Otherwise, there’s a very naked puppy who missed out on a very important engagement.

A piece of parchment paper with some sap on it and a fog machine were also among the list of forgotten items.

According to Uber, the times passengers are most forgetful is on Saturdays and Sundays, between the hours of 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. (makes sense). New Year’s Day and Oct. 29 (early Halloween celebrations, anyone?) were the days that the most people forgot something in their Uber in 2018.

Southern states appeared to be the most forgetful. According to Uber, out of the top 10 “Most Forgetful Cities,” eight of them were located in the South.

The most forgotten items included common things most of us would probably leave behind like a phone, glasses, ID and wallet.
