Inspired and alarmed by Super Tuesday

-

Former Vice President Joe Biden’s speech after Super Tuesday was the first time I had a tearful yet joyful moment during a campaign speech since President Barack Obama.

Biden showed us his true grit. He turned a corner on Super Tuesday. I believe that the man who deserves it most at this time in our history will keep rising because Democrats have now gotten it.

Uniting to form an impenetrable bond is the only way to beat President Donald Trump. Too much is at stake. There is no time to be petty or self serving. Biden might be a little past his prime, but he showed through his comments and his body language that he is all there. His words gave me strength and once again a belief that we can really win.

They say that sometimes you have to take a step back and check out the path before you go forward. Super Tuesday was that day, for sure.

Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont has integrity, and his efforts to reach solutions have earned my respect. Perhaps they can earn yours, too, with an endorsement. In the wake of Super Tuesday results, I am alarmed that so many Americans have been oblivious and indifferent to Biden’s flaws.

As a senator, Biden supported former President George W. Bush’s Iraq War, and he took a controversial stance on busing.

He has also admitted to compromising with racist members of Congress.

Voters have been led to believe that centrist Democrats who worked with Obama must be OK.

In polls that compare Democratic candidates’ chances of beating Trump, it’s Sanders who wins a good amount of them.

Let’s clear away the smoke and mirrors and move forward based on truth, or be prepared to be eviscerated by the GOP. Republicans have an anti-Democratic messaging machine that will be coming to America’s political consciousness very soon.

Occasionally, I hear clap trap that accuses Sanders of promoting a form of socialism that will lead to communism in the United States.

Most sixth-graders would see through this because they know that Congress would limit the legislative agenda of any president.
