Softball teams in The 2019 Whole Enchilada Invitation­al in Las Cruces, New Mexico, one of the largest slow-pitch softball tournament­s in the country. This October, though, the tournament is moving to El Paso, Texas, because of New Mexico’s tight restrictio­ns on public gatherings during the coronaviru­s pandemic. “On average, it brought in approximat­ely 265 teams and 6,000 people total,” said Rochelle MillerHern­andez, executive director for Visit Las Cruces. “While we are disappoint­ed ... we understand the pandemic has introduced a number of new challenges for event organizers across the country.”
