MAKING WAVES CABLE NEWS NETWORKS
With the new year comes new cable news lineups. CNN and Fox News announced revisions to their schedules Monday as a new presidential administration prepares to take office. The changes follow CNN’s postelection ratings surge and come as a dominant Fox faces challenges from smaller right-leaning networks.
For CNN, “The Lead With Jake Tapper” expands to two hours in April. To make room, “The Situation Room With Wolf Blitzer” will air an hour later, starting at 7 p.m. EST.
At Fox News, a fourth hour of opinion programs will start Jan. 18. “Fox News Primetime,” will temporarily have a rotating roster of hosts.
