That’s how many consecutive starts Xander Schauffele has made at this event, the longest active streak of any player. Justin Thomas (8) previously held the longest active streak but failed to qualify this year. Schauffele is a past champion of the Sentry in 2019.
Keep an eye on …
⬤ Scottie Scheffler: World No. 1 player dusted the field at the Hero World Challenge in December. If he putts this week like he did there, it won’t be a fair fight.
⬤ Ludvig Aberg: The Swedish sensation won the RSM Classic in November the last time he teed it up. A win this week, and he would jump into the top 10 in the Official World Golf Ranking in record time. ⬤ Viktor Hovland: Back in August, the Norwegian won the last two times he teed it up in official starts on the PGA Tour at the BMW Championship and Tour Championship. The last player to win three consecutive starts on the tour was Dustin Johnson during the 2016-17 season. Hovland is making his fourth start at the Sentry and has yet to finish in the top 10.

With only 59 players in the field, pros will be paired in threesomes (and one twosome) for all four rounds. Golf Channel coverage on Thursday will highlight Hovland, the reigning FedExCup champ, who is paired with PGA Tour Player of the Year Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth (4:39 p.m. ET). On Friday, Aberg, Max Homa and Patrick Cantlay are in the final pairing (4:39 p.m. ET).
