Mavis Myers, 82, Valley City, ND passed away at Mercy Hospital July 9, 2020. The funeral service for her will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Epworth United Methodist Church, Valley City, with Pastor Paul Lint officiatin­g. The visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the church. She will be buried at Memory Gardens Cemetery following the service. With the ongoing concern during the Covid 19 pandemic, you are strongly encouraged to wear masks and to practice other suggested precaution­s.

Mavis Sather was born August 9, 1937 in Valley City, ND to Oscar and Clara (Olufson) Sather. She went to school in Litchville, ND and Valley City High School and College High in Valley City

On May 12, 1955, she married Merle Myers in Moorhead, MN. They had four children. Mavis worked and was dedicated to the VFW ( Veterans of Foreign Wars) Club for many years. She was active in the VFW Auxiliary, DAV ( Disabled American Veterans) Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She enjoyed going to her children’s and grandchild­ren’s activities and sporting events. She spent countless hours working on family history, taking pictures, and enjoying her family, grandchild­ren, and great grandchild­ren.

Mavis is survived by her children, Diane Myers of Valley City, Randy (Christina) Myers of Milnor, ND, Lori Glaser of Valley City, and Rick (Sandra) Myers of Jamestown, ND; 7 grandchild­ren, Jessica Myers of Jamestown, Ashley Myers of Fargo, ND, Andrew ( Kaylee) Glaser of Hillsboro, ND, Matthew Glaser of Valley City, Christophe­r Glaser of Valley City, Austin Myers of Milnor, and Dylan Myers of Jamestown; 4 great grandchild­ren, Jayden, Jordyn, and Brayden Myers of Jamestown and Kallen Goldstein of Fargo; a brother, Lyle Sather Sr. of Tucson, AZ; in-laws, Wayne Myers of Pueblo, CO, Jack (Anne) Myers of Cedar Rapids, IA, Arthur Neer of Bismarck, ND, and Karen Mahan of Bismarck; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Clara Sather; husband, Merle Myers, mother and father-in-law, Clare and Mildred Myers; sonin-law, Todd Glaser; granddaugh­ter, Jennifer Myers; brother, Clayton Sather; sistersin-law, Marilyn Sather, Barb Swenson, Gladys Myers, and Carol Neer; and a brother-in-law, James Myers.
