Jamestown Blue Jays concluded their season at the ND High School State Swimming and Diving Championship in Bismarck.

Valley City High School Senior, Noah Haglund put the exclamation point on his high school swimming placing backstroke fourth career in the (55.51) 100yard by and leading the medley relay in backstroke to a smashed team record (1:41.33). His remaining events of the day were an eighteenth-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (51.15) and twelfth-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:33.62). Though high school swimming has ended for the season, he is far from finished in the pool this month as he will be competing March 27-29th, 2021 at the Speedo Sectionals Championship in West Fargo alongside other top qualifiers from North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Illinois.

Teammate and brother, VCJH eighth grader Bodi Haglund, had his fair share of adding points to the Blue Jays tenth place team finish with handling the breaststroke leg of the team record breaking medley relay, and twelfth-place 200-yard freestyle relay (1:36.48), as well as individual accolades with his seventh-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.42) and thirteenth-place in the 200-yard individual medley (2:08.64). Also prolonging his swimming this month, Bodi will compete with his brother at the North Dakota Swimming State Championship in West Fargo, March 19-21st, 2021 with the top qualifiers of the state in their age groups for club swimming’s short course season championship meet.
