The Valley City Firefighter’s annual Smoker Fundraiser will be held Friday, April 30th at the Valley City Eagles Club.

Fire Chief Scott Magnuson is looking forward to the annual event, where the community comes out and contributes to the department while having a great time. He and the entire VCFD are thankful for the community’s participation in this event as well as their support for the department all year long.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Fire Department,

with Chief Magnuson looking to put it towards new equipment that he feels his the department needs to continue serving the community to the best of their ability.

The Smoker itself will have all sorts of games and raffles, including a meat raffles, pinochle tournament, Texas Hold ‘Em, heads or tails, and a ticket drawings for those who purchased tickets. Not all participants have to be present to win the drawings, though it is encouraged. There will also be up to $900 in prize drawings at 11 p.m. The VCFD will have good eats for those who attend, with chili and sausage available starting at 6 p.m. and continuing to be served until it’s gone.

“We would love to have people come out and have a good time,” Magnuson says. “We would really like to thank everyone for supporting us. We want to make sure that all of the men and women of the department are there so that people can see who their firemen are. It’s really nice that volunteers get to be seen doing what they do for our community.”

Tickets are $10 per person and, as always, it is guaranteed to be a great time for everyone. All attendees must be 21 and over to join in on the fun.
