Debbie Miller SVFA “Wags & Whiskers” Fundraiser to be Held May 8th at the Valley City Eagles Club

- By TR Staff treditor@times-online.com

Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals is hosting their annual Debbie Miller Wags and Whiskers fundraiser on Saturday, May 8th at the Valley City Eagles Club, 5-7 p.m. Each year, this event raises funds for the organization, which is crucial to their mission: providing for local animals in need. The community is invited to gather at the Eagles Club on May 8th and take part in the 2021 Wags and Whiskers fundraiser, where you can enjoy an All-You-Can-Eat spaghetti dinner, a silent auction, Norwegian raffle, dessert walk and more.

SVFA would love if anyone in the community with an affinity for baking might consider donating some delicious baked goods (like cakes, pies, brownies, cookies, etc.) to their Dessert Walk. They’re also looking for volunteers who might like to donate things like blankets for dogs/cats and their humans, homemade dog/ cat treats and Meow Mix (trail mix for every pet’s human).

Got Donations?

The SVFA is also looking for new or gently used, grand prizeworthy items to be used at the event’s Norwegian Raffle and Silent auction.

If you would like to help, please contact Jenni at Jenni.svfa@gmail.com or call 701-8408332.

About Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals

SVFA, established in 2007, has a mission “to develop a network of people for the purposes of: promoting human and responsible pet ownership and be

ing advocates for stray or abandoned animals in need of care.” They offer assistance for pet owners with spay/neuter costs, help advertise for and locate lost pets’ owners, find forever homes for pets waiting to be adopted, raise money to provide veterinary care for animals in need and much more. These volunteers take their love of animals and turn it into activism, working to make Valley City and the surrounding area a place where pets are taken care of and, most importantly, loved.

Their annual “Wags and Whiskers” fundraiser promises fun for all ages, and full bellies for pasta lovers, as well as full hearts for community members as well as the pets the funds go toward helping.

Tickets are $5 for the fundraiser, which you can purchase at Valley Officeworks, CityCounty Health, from any SVFA member, or at the door on the night of the event. Showing animals love has never been so fun.
