WEEKLY ONGOING EVENTS/REMINDERS:

*Local SkillUSA chapter will be accepting the following items to donate to the Community Closet as part of there Community service project. All items can be dropped off at the Sheyenne Valley Career and Technology Center located at 801 Valley Ave SE during regular business hours between Nov 22 and Dec 10th. Clothing: Men’s and adolescent boys is needed. Teenage girls items needed: lotions, perfumes etc. New Toys: for children ages Baby to teen and fabric to make tie blankets with.

*AmVets will not be selling or creating a calendar this year. Thank you to all who have supported them in the past and they look forward to next year.

*Legacy Place is looking for volunteers to share their musical talents for an upcoming special event Dec. 1st and the Christmas social towards the end of hte month (TBD). If you would like to sing, play the piano, guitar or whatever you love contact Karen for more informatio­n at 701-845-8945.

*Dacotah Bank will be sharing their Community Gift Tree with the families and friends of Valley City. Donate a gift for a child, ages infant through high school by dropping off to the bank at 240 3rd St NW, Valley City. Gift wrap your donation and label with age and for boy or girl.

* Puklich Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, of Valley City is hosting a Drive Away Hunger event now through November 23rd with all donations collected going to the Barnes County Food Pantry. All donations can be dropped off to 721 West Main Street, Valley City.

*Valley City Optimist Club Roller Skating every Sunday, with exception of holidays, from 6-8 p.m. For more informatio­n call Rick Ross at 701-4900828.

*Valley City Public Works Transfer Station will be closed on Saturday’s until further notice.

*Rock ‘n Bowl Friday Nights at the VC Bowling Alley for family and small kids from 6-8 p.m. and then all ages from 9 p.m.12 a.m.

*Barnes County Museum, is open and welcoming visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, closed on Sundays. The museum is located at 315 Central Ave N, Valley City. Call Wes at 701-845-0966 for tour and additional informatio­n.

*Abused Persons Outreach Center (APOC) will have a temporary change in office hours. The office will now be open from 9AM-3PM, located at 160 2nd St NW, Valley City. 24 Hour Crisis hotline 701845-0072.

*The Drivers License Division is currently traveling to Valley City the first and third Wednesday of each month. Services are available by appointmen­t only by going online to dot.nd.gov or calling 1-855-633-6835.

*AA Fellowship Corner Meeting Schedule: Monday 8 p.m., Tuesday 6 p.m., Wednesday noon, Friday noon, Saturday 8 p.m. For more informatio­n call 701-845-3705. The meetings are held at 320 2nd Ave SE in Valley City.

• The Veteran Service Office will be closed from Wednesday November 24-November 26 to observe the Thanksgivi­ng Holiday.

• VCBC Public Library will be closed in observance of the Thanksgivi­ng holiday.

• VC Eagles Club will be closed in observatio­n of the Thanksgivi­ng holiday.

• BC Senior Center will be cllosed Nov. 25th in observatio­n of Thanksgivi­ng holiday.

• Turkey Trot 2021 will be held Nov. 25th, 8 a.m. starting at Jefferson Elementary. All proceeds to benefit Landon’s Light Foundation. Watch for more details to come in your TR.

• Barnes County Courthouse will be closed on November 25, 2021 in observance of Thanksgivi­ng Day. The Barnes County Jail and Sheriff’s Office will remain staffed.

• Pilgrims Reformed Baptist Church invites all to join them for a Thanksgivi­ng Meal on Thanksgivi­ng Day, Thursday, November 25th from 3-5 p.m. The church is located at 204 5th St NW, Valley City. The event is free and open to the public.

• NDWS hosts a Country Christmas Holiday Shopping, D.I.Y. Crafts and prize drawings on Fri., Dec. 3 from 6 p.m.-close and Sat., Dec. 4 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. in the Winter Show South Exhibit Building, Valley City. Free admission with purchase of a North Star Cattlemen’s Ball & Sale Dinner ticket on Friday and Saturday free admission by bringing a non-perishable food donation for the Barnes County Food Pantry.
