Faith Lutheran to Hold Holiday Fest on December 4th

-

Faith Lutheran Church is gearing up for a Holiday Fest to be held on Sat., Dec. 4 at the church, 309 4th Street NE, Valley City.

Faith will be hosting a Holiday Fest instead of our annual Fall Festival, usually held in October. The church will not be serving a lunch this year, however, our youth will be selling ‘soup to go’. Knoephla and chicken wild rice are two of the soups that will be available. The ‘soup to go’ is a fundraiser supporting the youth programs at Faith, which, this year, includes several youth attending the National Youth Gathering in Minneapolis, MN next summer.

The hours of the Holiday Fest will be 10 a.m.1 p.m. Masks will be available for those wanting to mask up.

The Holiday Fest will feature a craft, bake sale and gift baskets. The baked goods will include Norwegian goodies (lefse and krumkake), donuts, breads, cookies, bars, home canned items and more.

The Faithful and “sew busy” quilters will also be selling their quilts. Last year these amazing people made beautiful quilts which they gave to hospitals, the local nursing home, APOC, Red Willow Bible Camp, Churches United and Lutheran World Relief. They also gave a quilt to each of the Faith Lutheran high school graduates. The remaining quilts were sold at the Fall Festival. The quilts are lovely and seem to get more beautiful each year.

The proceeds from the Fall Festival/Holiday Fest are used to support over 29 different local and state agencies/organizations and ELCA missions worldwide.

Faith Lutheran welcomes you to come, shop and enjoy some great fellowship. It will be a fun way to do your holiday baking and Christmas shopping. We hope to see you there.
