Hi-Liner Boys & Girls Basketball Against Davies

Hi-Liner Varsity Boys Fargo Davies 106, Valley City 46

Fargo Davies started the game on a 16-2 run and never looked back on its way to a 106-46 win over Valley City in high school boys basketball Tuesday night at the HAC.

The Hi-Liners did go on a 8-0 run with Adam Bitz scoring six of those points to cut the Hi-lIners’ deficit to 16-10. But the third ranked Eagles would go on a 14-2 run to reopen an 18 point lead, 30-12. Four Eagles scored in double figures as Davies led 63-21 at the break.

Bitz led the Hi-Liners with 15 points in the first half. He had all five field goals for Valley City.

The second half was more of the same as Davies hit on 76 percent of their field goals in the second half to reach the century mark for the first time this season.

Five players reached double figures for the Eagles. Mason Klabo led the way with 22 points and a game high eight assists. He would add four steals as well. Max Froslie scored 21 points. Ian Motschenba­cher had 19 points and a game high five steals. Ray Brown added 13 points and Alex Proctor had 13 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

Adam Bitz led Valley City with 25 points including five three-pointers. Zach Sykora scored nine of his eleven points in the second half. Andrew Berntsson, Will Eggert and Cal Burchill all had three points and Arie Bratrud had one. Brutal also had a team high eight rebounds.

Valley City falls to 0-4 overall and 0-3 in the Eastern Dakota Conference. Davies is 3-0 overall and 3-0 in the conference.

Valley City travels to Grand Forks to take on Central Friday night on an EDC matchup. Tipoff is set for 7:15.

Hi-Liner Varsity Girls Fargo Davies 83, Valley City 63

Davies ended the first half on a 21-4 run to open up a 55-24 lead on the way to an 83-63 win over Valley City in girls basketball at the Eagle gym.

Marissa Burian led the Eagles with 19 points. Ashton Safranski filled the stat sheet with 17 points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals. Ava Wild added a double-double with ten points and eleven rebounds.

Brooke Eggermont led Valley City with a double-double of her own with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Test Olson had 17 points, five rebounds and four assists. Drew Potratz had nine points, Dylan Diegel had eight points, Carly Goven added six points while Faith Peterson and Peyton Pederson chipped in four and two points respective­ly.

Valley City is now 0-4 overall and 0-3 in the Eastern Dakota Conference while Davies is 3-0 overall and in the EDC.

Valley City Hi-Liner girls will host Grand Forks Central Thursday night at the HAC, varsty only. Tipoff is set for 7:15pm
