DeAnna Dathe

DeAnna Marie (Muske) Dathe was born December 11, 1984 to Dale and Diane Muske. She had one older brother Douglas and another brother joined the family, Daniel (Newman) just over a year later.

At the age of 11 months, she was diagnosed with Langerhans cell Histiocyto­sis and she doctored several years with many chemothera­py and radiation treatments. She was considered in remission in 1993.

She attended LaMoure Public School. She loved to play baseball with the boys and worked various jobs throughout those years including Newman’s lawn care, the Dairy Bar, and as a lifeguard at the LaMoure Pool.

She graduated from LaMoure Public School with honors in May 2003. She attended Jamestown College (now known as UJ) and graduated with honors in December 2006 with a degree in Elementary Education. During her college years she worked as a lifeguard, resident assistant in her dorm and at Walmart.

She knew the love of her life all her life as Kyle was born and raised in LaMoure and they attended the same church and the same school. They were confirmed together and were married May 26, 2007. They made their home in LaMoure and later moved to rural Dickey. They became parents to Kadance June on September 2, 2010 and Greer Mason on August 9, 2013.

After college she worked for Witt consulting, substitute taught in LaMoure and worked full time as a paraprofes­sional until she was able to join the staff as a Jr High teacher. She loved her job and her students.

She was diagnosed with a rare intestinal cancer in January 2021 and passed away at Essentia Hospital after a hard-fought battle on December 14, 2021.

She is survived by her husband, Kyle and children Kadance and Greer, her parents Dale and Diane of Dickey, her brother Doug (Amber) and niece and nephews Broden, Ryer, Bailey and Brooks all of Valley City and her brother Daniel (Shelby Ringsaker) of Berlin and her maternal grandmothe­r Carol Tweten of Mesa, AZ. She is also survived by her parents in law Les and Pam Dathe of LaMoure and a brother-in-law Corey (Jessica) Dathe of Fargo, and Kyle’s maternal grandmothe­r June Dewald. Also left to remember her are many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfathe­r Allan Tweten and her paternal grandparen­ts Oscar and June Muske.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids. Due to limited seating, there will also be a Celebratio­n of Life Service at LaMoure school on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Both services will be live streamed on the Dahlstrom Funeral Home website www.dahlstromf­uneralhome.com on her obituary page.
