WEEKLY ONGOING EVENTS/REMINDERS:

*Barnes County will be testing the disaster sirens during a drill on Wednesday, April 27th, 11 p.m.

*Valley City DMV Department and all State DMV Department­s will be upgrading our computer system May 4th-8th. Motor vehicle offices will be closed for in-person services from May 5-8. Driver license office closures will be May 6-8. Online services, including kiosks, will be unavailabl­e from May 4-8. Appointmen­ts for title work must be scheduled on dot. nd.gov or by calling our local office 701-845-3812.

*Grief Support Group will meet, beginning April 21st, at Alley Beans from 6:308 p.m. in Valley City. The group will cover numerous topics and welcomes all ages. *Babysittin­g Class offered for 6th grade students May 9th, 10th & 12th at the ELIM Evangelici­al Church, located at 1141 9th St SW (south of

*Barnes County 4-H Dog Obedience Class Registrati­on for kids- 3rd grade and up (Dogs- must be 6 months and older) will be held from 6-7 p.m. Wednesdays, beginning May 4th for 10 weeks at National Guard Armory. *Barnes County Museum, is open and welcoming visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, closed on Sundays. The museum is located at 315 Central Ave N, Valley City.

*The Drivers License Division is currently traveling to Valley City the first and third Wednesday of each month. Services are available by appointmen­t only by going online to dot. nd.gov or calling 1-855633-6835.

• Rich Garman, from the ND Dept of Commerce, will speak on “Can North Dakota Be Carbon Neutral by 2030? Governor Burgum’s Plan”, a presentati­on on Climate Change will be held in the auditorium at the Rhoades Science Center on the campus of Valley City State University at 7 p.m. It is free and sponsored by “What in the World Is Going On?” Group. If you are unable to attend in person you can participat­e virtually via Zoom. • The Monroe Doctrine Bluegrass band will perform on Thursday, April 28 from 7-9 p.m. at the Vault Coffee Shop and Arts Center in Valley City. Free-will donations are appreciate­d.
