WEEKLY ONGOING EVENTS/REMINDERS:

*Dakota Rider Father’s Day Hillclimb has been postponed until Saturday, August 27, 10 a.m.

*The Bridges Backpack Program / Hi-Liner Pantry will be opening a Summer Grocery every Wednesday evening starting June 1st running thru August 3rd from 5:00pm – 7:00pm in the FAC’s room at the High School use door #

7. There will not be grab and go lunches this summer due to funding issues. We still want to help any family out that might need a little extra for breakfast, lunches or dinner. No income requiremen­ts and no questions asked. Please share! If anyone is interested in donating can do so by bringing it to the High School on Wednesday nights.

*St. Catherine Quilters

*AA Fellowship Corner Meeting Schedule:

• The Community Closet will be open June 13th from 5-7 p.m. in the basement of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Valley City.

• Rally in the Valley Duck Race ducks can be purchased at the Hi-Liner Activity Center lobby on Monday, June 13th from 5-7 p.m. All proceeds will go to Education Foundation for Valley City Public Schools in support of the Access for All program.

Mon., June 13

• Barnes County Senior Center meals and activities: Chicken cordon bleu, baby bakers, baked beans, peaches. 1:15 p.m. Whist.

Tues., June 14

• VFW will hold a meeting at the VC Eagles Club on June 14th, 6:30 p.m.

• Barnes County Senior Center meals and activities: Tater tot hotdish, Prince Edward veggies, breadstick, cookie. 1:15 p.m. Pinochle.

• VCBC Public Library Activities: 10 a.m. Let’s Go Fishing at the Fish Hatchery; 2 p.m. Nemo movie; 5 beekeeping demo.

Wed., June 15

• Music in the Park: Evie Andrus along with Kasey Moore - Fiddle, mandoline and guitar music will entertain Wednesday, June 15th, 7:15 p.m. at the Bandshell in City Park. If the weather does not permit, performanc­es will be in the VCSU Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public with a will donation taken and put towards the continued programs and restoratio­n of the bandshell. • Tom Oakland of the ND Dept of Commerce, will speak on “Can North Dakota Be Carbon Neutral by 2030? Governor Burgum’s Plan”, a presentati­on on Climate Change . It will be held in the auditorium at the Rhoades Science Center on the campus of Valley City State University. It is free and sponsored by “What in the World Is Going On?” If you are unable to attend in person you can participat­e virtually via Zoom. • Peggy Lee Day will be celebrated in Valley City on Friday, June 17th with a program at 7 p.m. in the VCSU Preforming Arts Center, featuring Myron Sommerfeld in concert. A Pink ice cream social will be held in the lobby at 8 p.m. with Alley Beans serving coffee. The event is free, but please bring a non-perishable food item donation for the Barnes County Food Pantry.

• Grand Prairie reunion will be held June 17th at the VC Eagles Club on June 17th

• Class of 1961 Barnes County North school reunion will be held June 18th at the VC Eagles Club with music by Paul Leier.

• Barnes County Fly-In Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser will be held Saturday, June 18th from 7-9:30 a.m. at the Barnes County Municipal Airport. All proceeds will go to Valley City Hi-Lites Dance team.

• Barnes County Senior Center meals and activities: Hamburger on a bun, macaroni salad, coleslaw, 7-layer bar.

• VCBC Public Library Activities: Library Closed. 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Pie and Ice Cream Social on library lawn.
