Arlene Kirschenma­n, 89, Valley City, ND, died Sunday, June 19, 2022, at her home. Arlene Kirschenma­n, daughter of Adam and Rosina (Lehr) Hauck, was born June 14, 1933, at Wishek, ND. She grew up and attended rural school and Wishek High School. Arlene earned her Cosmetolog­y license in Bismarck,

ND. Her first job was at Kurene Cut and Curl in Oakes, ND.

In 1965, Arlene moved to Fargo to work at the DeLendreci­e’s Department Store beauty salon. In Fargo, she met Art Kirschenma­n at a dance in the Crystal Ballroom. On May 21, 1967, she married Art, the love of her life, at St Luke’s Lutheran Church in Wishek. They lived in Valley City along the beautiful Sheyenne River. Arlene owned and operated her own salon, Arlene’s Beauty Nook until her retirement in the late 1990s.

She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church for many years. She was an author and enjoyed crafts, collecting, thrifting, and Saturday night suppers out on the town with Art. She had the most wonderful Alaskan Husky, Duke, he was her constant companion. Arlene lived her life serving Christ. She continuall­y professed her faith and never hesitated to pray for all in need.

She is survived by her twin sister, Betty Ruff, Jamestown, ND; one brother, Norman (Sharyn) Hauck, Bismarck, ND; one sisterin-law, Janet Hauck, Wishek, ND; one brother-in-law, Reinhold Lang, Anoka, MN and several nieces and nephews and families.

She was preceded in death by her husband Art; her parents, Adam and Rosina Hauck; two brothers, Peter and Donald; two sisters and her brothers-in-law, Adelia (Joe Vetsch) and Helen (Edwin Rath).

Arlene cherished family, especially all the nieces and nephews (great and great great)!
