WEEKLY ONGOING EVENTS/REMINDERS:

*Valley City Optimist Club Roller Skating Sunday night’s from 6-8 p.m. at the Rec Center, 140 4th St SW, Valley City. No outside roller skates or roller blades allowed. Adults skate free with accompained by a child. Rental options available for parties or events. For more information call 701-490-0828.

*Farmers Market will be held from 4-6 p.m. in the Rosebud Parking Lot (across from Elks building) and will continue every Monday and Thursday throughout the growing and harvest season. For more information call 701-840-7402.

*St. Catherine Quilters make quilts for those in need, meeting every Thursday from 1-4:30 p.m. and 6:30-9 p.m. in the basement gym of St. Catherine School. All are welcome, no experience necessary and supplies are provided. Questions call Christine 701-8402580 or Lela 701-8458352.

• VCPS Jefferson Elementary 2nd grade students present their Veterans Day Program featuring: The Star-Spangled Baner, Thank you, Soldiers, Welcome Home, U.S. Armed Forces Medley and more on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Program directed by Mrs. Sarah Larsen.

• VC Eagles Aerie and Auxiliary meetings and initiation will be held on November 3rd at the club.

• St. Catherine School 50th annual “How Sweet It Is” fall auction will be held Friday, November 4th with a silent auction at 5 p.m. and a live auction at 6:30 p.m. All proceeds go to school.

• The Maple Valley Parent (MVP) Group will host a Hunter’s Opening Day Breakfast and Raffle will be held Friday, November 4 from 6-9 a.m. at the Tower City Community Center featuring great food, good company and wonderful prizes.

• Sheyenne Saloon of Kathyrn, ND will host a Halloween Party on Saturday, Nov. 5th, 9PM1AM, featuring The Diamond Hearts Band.

• Sanborn Veterans Park Meat Raffle will be held Friday, November 4th, 5 p.m. at J&L’s Bar & Grill in Sanborn, ND. The event is sponsored by Cloverdale Meats of Mandan, ND with free chili served at 5 p.m. until gone. Come out and support the Sanborn Veterans Park.

• Chamber hosts a “Save a Buck & Spend Some Doe” shopping extravaganza, creative activities, treats, specials, giveaways and more November 4th & 5th throughout Valley City businesses. Watch your Valley City Times-Record for more details to come.

• Trinity Lutheran Church Fall Festival features gift baskets, quilt raffle, bake and lefse sale 10:30 a.m.1:30 p.m.; Lunch hours 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 5th at 499 4th Ave NW in Valley. • Barnes County Courthouse will be closed on Friday, November 11, 2022 in honor of Veterans Day. The Barnes County Jail and Sheriff’s Office will remain staffed.

• Valley City Public Schools and St. Catherine School will be closed on Friday, November 11th in honor of Veterans Day. School will resume normal hours on Monday, November 14.

• VCBC Public Library will be closed in observatance of the Veterans Day holiday.
