Marion Peterson
Marion Virginia Kramer Peterson (Sandness) died on February 9, 2023 in Poulsbo, Washington. She was 92 years old.
Marion Virginia was born to Curt and Emma (Maisel) Kramer on May 7, 1930, in Marion, ND. She grew up on the family farm near Dickey, ND. She attended school and graduated from Dickey High School.
Marion married Vernon Sandness May 7, 1948, in Marion, North Dakota. On December 30, 1967, Marion was married to Richard
L Peterson in Independence, Missouri.
Marion resided in Dickey, North Dakota until 1960, then lived in Valley City, North Dakota until 1972, then (started her adventures in life ) living in Poulsbo, Washington until 1988, then lived in Unalaska, Alaska until 1998, then moved to Bremerton, Washington for her retirement.
Throughout her life, Marion enjoyed gardening, crafting, shopping, traveling and friends. In her life journey, she was a Girl Scout leader, participated in the Ballyhoo Lions Club, was a charter member of the United Methodist Church of Unalaska, belonged to the Garden club, Red Hats and Sunshine Singers. She loved the outdoors and pets (dog sitting for friends and acquaintances ) in her retirement.
Marion is survived by 5 children and 11 grandchildren, Gary (Sandra) Sandness of Tualatin, Oregon and 2 grandsons Shaun and Krist Sandness, granddaughter Mariana (Zachary) Hill; Sondra (Leonard) Johnson of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and 2 granddaughters Leslie (John Paul) Vrolyk and Anna (Mary) Johnson and grandson Christopher Johnson; Nancy (David) Endrigo of Poulsbo, Washington; Danny (Lorna) Sandness of Bremerton, Washington, granddaughter Emily Sandness and grandson Brett Sandness; and Lori (Ronald) Allen of Belfair, Washington, 2 grandsons Zachary and Gabriel (Jeanne) Cyphers and granddaughter Lesli (Kenadi) Allen; and 6 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Loren (Leone) Kramer; 2 sisters, Elaine Millspaugh, and Ruth (Jim) Lee.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 8 brothers.
There will be a memorial service held on March 11, 2023 at 11:00 Am at the St Antony of Egypt Episcopal Church, 11885 Old Frontier Road NW, Silverdale, Washington. Inurnment will be in the Dickey Cemetery in Dickey, North Dakota this summer.
