Out & About with Carter...

Lots of activities go on in our City of Bridges. Yet many places in the Valley are quite unknown and unexplored to the average citizen. So, let us take a minute to go out and about, with Carter.

As I promised in my last article. I am going to talk about a certain business within this town. One that goes unrecognized in this beautiful city. The barber shops. Yes, I Carter Hass have used it myself. I like an old style cut. However, the main misconception of “old time” barber shops is that you should expect a bowl cut, a shave, and a talk of politics. Yet it is quite the contrary. Renee, the one and only barber worker there actually provides more. I have personally talked with her about classes that she attends every few years for conventions to “up her skills” and improve the quality of her work. Many reviews of the Valley Barber Shop are highly rated. It has an average of 4.7 stars! Her business was built by her family and friends from the ground up. Some might say it has been here forever. But one thing is for certain. She does a wonderful job. She has also informed me of her worker shortage. With multiple elderly customers and teen customers “and her old style of walk-in appointments” she gets overwhelmed. So, to all you Valley Citians out there. Stop into her shop if you want to be a barber. You will be working with the master. A pleasure indeed. I will also mention that on Yellow Pages “a searching-based website for small businesses in our area” puts her shop as the first one in town to go to. Renee has done an excellent job. I personally am always pleased to visit her. She can provide all distinct kinds of haircuts while still having an old-style barber shop atmosphere.
