LeRoy Bitz
The funeral service for LeRoy Bitz, 83, Valley City, ND will be held 10:30 Monday, February 19, 2024, at the OliverNathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City. The burial will be later in the spring in Highland Cemetery, Jamestown. He died Friday, February 2, at SMP Health-St. Raphael, Valley City.
LeRoy Bitz was born May 11, 1940, in Eldridge, ND, the son of William and Dorothy (Gahner) Bitz. He attended school through the eighth grade at Spiritwood. LeRoy worked for Don Williams, a farmer near Eldridge. He later attended NDSSS, Wahpeton, ND for plumbing classes for a year. He married Judy Ann Anderson in the fall of 1962, and they made their home in Valley City. LeRoy worked for Frostad’s Plumbing for several years and then for Pfaff Plumbing & Heating of Enderlin, ND. After a span of 52 years in the plumbing industry he retired in 2016.
LeRoy is survived by three sons, Terry Bitz, Oriska, ND, Mark (Sylvia) Bitz, Valley City, and Trent Bitz, Fingal, ND; four daughters, Jody (Oktay) Birlik, Las Vegas, NV, Janna Bitz, Valley City, Dawn Bitz, Colorado Springs, CO, and Ranee (John) Voit, Ghent, MN; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; two brothers, Henry Bitz, Port Orchard, WA and William Bitz, Browning, MT.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Martha, Edward, Gottlieb, Edwin, Louie, George, Edna, Freda, Rosemary, and Johnny.
