- By TR staff trpub@times-online.com

The Valley City Fire Department annual fundraiser will be held Saturday, March 23rd, at the Valley City Eagles Club.

Fire Chief Scott Magnuson shares that he is looking forward to the annual event and is thankful for the community’s participation in supporting the department while enjoying a great evening out.

All proceeds from the event will be applied toward the replacement dive rescue boat, that was purchased this year. Chief Magnuson shares that the previous one was damaged, beyond repair, during a past water rescue mission.

The fundraiser itself will have all sorts of games and raffles like the meat raffles, a pinochle tournament, boot, silent and “Norwegian” auction and ticket drawings for those who purchased tickets. Not all participants have to be present to win the drawings, though it is encouraged.

“We will be serving chili and sausage, starting at 6 p.m., until gone,” Magnuson said. “We would love to have people come out. We would really like to thank them for supporting us and want to make sure that all of the men and women there so that people can see who their firefighters are. It is really nice that volunteers get to be seen doing what they do for our community. We just want to encourage everyone to attend and have a good time.”

Tickets are $10 per person and are available for purchase at the Valley City Fire Department Hall, from firefighters or at the door the night of the event.

Plus...$900 in prize drawings will be given away at 11 p.m.

All attendees must be 21 or over to attend the event.
