What’s Happening at the Litchville Museum?

-

The Litchville Museum Board held their Spring planning meeting on April 12, 2024. There were many items to discuss, including finishing the repair to the walls in the stairwell and upstairs hallway in the Big House, cleanup and mowing. We were saddened by the resignation and subsequent passing of long-time board member Elaine Daily. Terri Potts was elected to fill her position. Larry Hegvik has also resigned from the Board, due to health problems. We thank him for his many years of service and wish him well.

We do need someone to fill Larry’s

position on the Board and several names were discussed during the meeting. If you are interested in joining us in our efforts to keep the gem known as the Litchville Museum going, please contact Mark Kluvers at 701-762-3654.

We have set the following dates for the 2024 season:

-Clean-up Day on May 18, beginning around 10:00 am. We would appreciate any and all help. Come when you can and leave when you must.

-Museum opening for the season on Memorial Day. At this time, we will not have regular hours. Phone numbers will be posted on the southwest door of the Big House for people to contact to open the buildings.

-Burgers and Brats fundraiser will be August 18 from 5 to 7 pm.

-Open House and closing of the museum for the season will be September 15 from 2 to 4 pm.

-Annual meeting will be on December 7 from 2 to 4 pm.

More details on these dates and events will be forthcoming. We will again be having a fundraising raffle with the drawing to be during the annual meeting on December 7. Tickets will be available from Board members later, and will also be on sale during the Litchville Car Show on July 20. If you would like to donate something for the raffle, please contact Mark Kluvers.

Thank you to everyone who has loaned and/or donated items to the museum. There are new items being added all the time. Also, thank you to everyone who has contributed to the costs of maintaining the museum and grounds throughout the years by attending the events hosted by the Museum Board. This history of the local communities would not exist without your help.
