Don Cheadle

-

Golden Globe winner Cheadle has yet to be nominated for his Showtime 1980s-set Wall Street series. (His last nom came for the same premium cabler’s “House of Lies” in 2015.) But his work on the second season may change that. Cheadle got to go big as Maurice “Mo” Monroe, who started the season out in disguise and in hiding, only to end up working as an informant for the FBI. But even when Mo is doing bad things, Cheadle is absolutely magnetic.

The veteran actor has never been nominated for a Golden Globe, which seems like an egregious error. If the HFPA agrees, they will surely rectify that now by celebrating his longest-running role, that of Rose family patriarch Johnny in the cable sitcom he co-created and also starred in. Levy is hot ož an Emmy win from September and on the awards circuit now for the ¡inal time in this role, since the show came to an end last spring.
