Joyce Wall
College and the University of Georgia’s Continuing Education Institute, for professional and governmental studies.
Wall became a certified municipal clerk and a municipal finance officer, working as a worker’s compensation representative for a decade at Liberty Mutual Insurance Co.
Three years later she returned to the workforce, after having her son, beginning as a clerk for the Rossville Police Department.
In 1968 she transferred to the Rossville mayor’s office and was appointed the city clerk three years later.
After another brief stint in the private sector with a legal firm, Wall was hired by the state of Georgia in 1985 for the child support recovery unit in LaFayette.
She has also helped teens in the media center at Ridgeland High School and was a substitute teacher at Rossville Middle School.
She has remained semi-retired since 1998, working during tax season at H&R Block and more recently at Walgreens.
Wall’s previous roles include former president of the Georgia Municipal Clerk’s Association, former vice president of the Rossville Business & Professional Women’s Club, and former PTA president at South Rossville Elementary.
She is a member of First Baptist Church of Rossville.
