Gordon Lee on verge on undefeated regular softball season

Gordon Lee Middle School cemented the NGAC West Division title this past Tuesday night with an 8-1 victory over Chattanooga Valley in Flintstone.

Gordon Lee racked up 14 hits on the after- noon, all singles. Faith Alexander had three of the hits in her five trips to the plate. She also scored twice in the win.

Leading 4-1 entering the top of the seventh, the Lady Trojans tacked on four insurance runs, getting RBIs from Alex- ander and Gracey Kruse.

Paxton Grimes also knocked in a run for the Lady Trojans, who got 11 strikeouts from pitcher Canaan Burnett. Burnett allowed just one hit and one walk.

The Lady Trojans ran their unbeaten streak to 15 games on Thursday with an 8-0 win over Dade County.

Gordon Lee scored six times in the first three innings to stake Burnett to the lead. The ace pitched another brilliant game, striking out nine and allowing just two hits.

Gracey Kruse had an RBI-triple in the first inning and a two-run error by the Lady Wolverines helped add to Gordon Lee’s lead in the second. Katherine Grace McElhaney delivered singles in both the third and fourth innings.

The Lady Trojans will play at LaFayette on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
