Shirley R. Lawson, of Ringgold, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016, in her home. She was 65. She resided with her mom, dad and two sisters. She was loved by many and forever in our hearts.

Survivors include: Her brother, Dennis Anderson; son, Kenneth McCorkle and two daughters, Kristy McCorkle and Deana Frady; three grandsons and four granddaugh­ters.

Funeral services: Monday, June 13, at 1 p.m. at Westside Missionary Baptist Church in Ringgold.

Fred Leon Parsons, 73 Ringgold

Fred Leon Parsons, of Ringgold, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016, at his home. He was 73.

Survivors include: His wife, Brenda Parsons; sons, Nicky (Paula) Parsons and Scott (Michelle) Parsons; daughters, Lisa (Bobby) Long, Carole (Frank) Teague and Tammy (James) Martin; brothers, Edward (Winnie) Parsons, Gary Parsons and Leonard (Shelia) Parsons; sisters, Peggy (Tommy) Cabe, Thelma Hinds, Stella Jenkins, Jan (Jimmy) Keith, Norma Hodge, Rhonda (Brian) Clayton, Brenda (Brian) Clowers; numerous grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren.

Chason Parker Kellis, 22 Chattanoog­a

Chason Parker Kellis, of Chattanoog­a, departed this life Friday, June 3, 2016. He was 22.

He was a lifelong resident of Chattanoog­a and was of the Baptist faith. Chason was an avid outdoorsma­n and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Survivors include: His father, Eddie Kellis of Chattanoog­a; mother, Terena (Speck) Kellis; daughter, Karson; sisters, Kim (Michael) Zorovich of Fort Myers, Fla., Kassie Frederick of Cleveland, Tenn.; nieces, Kaylee and Lauren; nephew, Mikey; grandfathe­rs, Joseph Hendricks of Rossville, Ga., and Ray (Connie) Speck of Chattanoog­a; many uncles, aunts and cousins.

Visitation and celebratio­n of Chason’s life: Thursday, June 9, from 4-7 p.m. in the parlor of Wilson Funeral Home, in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.

Johnny T. Headrick, 82 Ringgold

John “Johnny” Thomas Headrick, of Ringgold, was relieved of his pains and entered into the Peace that passes all understand­ing through Jesus Christ our Lord Tuesday, June 6, 2016. He was 82.

He was a lifelong resident of the north Georgia area and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Headrick was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion post #40.

“Johnny” loved playing pranks on the ones he loved and had a wonderful sense of humor that will greatly be missed. He also loved bowling and playing the harmonica. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Lola Mae Headrick.

Survivors include: His children, Eddie and Delia Headrick and Darlene Headrick Bagley all of Ringgold; three sisters, Jewell (Ross) Grant, Rena Peters and Julia Adkins of Ringgold; brothers, Harold Headrick of West Virginia, Richard (Carolyn) Headrick, Thurman (Billie) Headrick of Ringgold, Lamar Headrick of Cleveland, Tenn., and Donald (Helen) Headrick of Villanow; grandchild­ren, Kristy Morrison and Brian Lenard; five great-grandchild­ren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Francis Burnham-Doss, 79 Kingston, Ga.

Mary Francis (Steel) Burnham Doss, of Kingston, Ga., went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 6, 2016. She was 79.

She was a resident of the Rome area for more than 39 years and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Rome, Ga.

She was an excellent wife, mother and grandmothe­r who will be greatly missed by all who loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Maudie (Rains) Steel; first husband, Robert Doss and daughter, Linda Hopper.

Survivors include: Her husband, Robert Burnham of Kingston, Ga.; children, Joan Huck of Seattle, Wash., Debra Orr of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., Johnny (Annette) Duncan of Rome, Ga., and Annette Brake of Nashville, Tenn.; sisters, Anne Lowe of Ringgold and Betty Jo Wilbanks of Rossville; 12 grandchild­ren, 24 great-grandchild­ren and two greatgreat-grandchild­ren.

Visitation: Wednesday, June 8, from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, June 9, from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and until time of service on Friday.

Funeral services: Friday, June 10, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with pastor John Kilgore officiatin­g.

Juanita Bizzoco, 93 Rossville

Juanita Shelby Street Bizzoco, of Rossville, Ga., passed away Monday, June 6, 2016, at a local healthcare center. She was 93.

Juanita was an outstandin­g woman with many friends and everyone that knew her loved her. She was hardworkin­g, loving and raised six children by herself.

She was a wonderful cook, loved dancing, music by Marty Robbins and soap operas. She was described by a granddaugh­ter as a very gracious lady with a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by her family.

She was a former LPN with Erlanger and was the last of five brothers and sisters.

She was preceded in death by three husbands; two children, Betty Lockman and Roy Shelby; three grandchild­ren, Jessica, Kevin and Toby Revis and her parents, Walter and Emma Young.

Survivors include: Her children, Barbara Pitsenbarg­er, Lucy (Melvin) Smith, Perry (Jane) Shelby and Inez (Doug) Hall; stepson, Dr. Dennis Bizzoco, 10 grandchild­ren and several great- and great-great-grandchild­ren and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Wilson and the nurses and staff of Parkside Nursing Home for their kind and compassion­ate care during their mother’s time there.

Visitation: Tuesday, June 7, from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour in the funeral home.

Thelma M. Wright, of Rossville, Ga., passed away Saturday, June 4, at her home. She was 95.

She will always be remembered as a loving and devoted member of Battlefiel­d Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wright; son, Thomas Lee Wright and grandson, Jimmy Pruett.

Bertie Mildred Peters Gordy, 94 Ringgold

Bertie Mildred Peters Gordy slipped peacefully into eternity Monday, June 6, 2016. She was 94.

She was born Oct. 4, 1921, in Ringgold to the late Augustus and Susie Weaver Peters. She grew up in the Pleasant Valley Community, but spent much of her adult life living in Tampa, Fla. She moved back to Ringgold after retirement.

She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, reading, and circle a word puzzles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norton Gordy; two brothers, Dewey Peters and Ellison Peters; two sisters, Nell Gordy Pack and Frances Chadwick Doutrich and one grandson, Gerald Norton Gordy Jr.

Survivors include: Her daughter, Lola Sue (Rodney) Chapman; two sons, Wayne (Lynnette) Gordy and Gerald (Kathy) Gordy; six grandchild­ren, Suzanne (Dan) Rumphol, Karen Gordy (Mark Baker), Melinda (Dan) Bargar, Melissa (David) Guinn, Angela Chapman, and Greg Gordy, as well as many great-grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the staff at Parkside Nursing Home and Stephanie Lawson and Debbie Davenport of Life Choice Hospice.

Visitation: Wednesday, June 8, from 5-9 p.m. and prior to the service on Thursday.

Jeff Elliott, of Flintstone, Ga., passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016, at his residence. He was 48.

Charlotte Jean Hill Hutchison, 87 Fort Oglethorpe

Charlotte Jean Hill Hutchison, formerly of West Armuchee and LaFayette, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016. She was 87.

She was born May 15, 1929, to the late Ira Sherman Hill and Fannie Huggins Hill and was a graduate of Armuchee High School. She married her late husband, John Duchaine Hutchison Aug. 25, 1951, and moved to LaFayette, Ga.

She worked for 15 years at Rivoli Mill where she was a seamstress and made drapes for the local ladies in LaFayette, and she used her earnings to pay for their first home. Charlotte was instrument­al in the start of the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.

She also was part of the group that helped create the Chattanoog­a swim team. While her daughter Jean was in elementary school, she made the cheerleadi­ng uniforms. She enjoyed volunteeri­ng her spare time to her community. Charlotte was of the Baptist faith.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four sisters.

Survivors include: Her daughter, Jean (James) Wilson of Flintstone; son, Greg (Robin) Hutchison of Chattanoog­a; grandchild­ren, Brian (Gina) Wilson, Christina (Bryan) Jenkins and Ian Hutchison; five great-grandchild­ren and one greatgreat-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Sunday, June 12, from 2-6 p.m. at Wilbanks Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services: Monday, June 13, at 11 a.m. with Paul Rader officiatin­g.

Burial: Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 4686 West Armuchee Road, in Summervill­e, Ga.
