Liela Eubanks Wrape, 93 Rock Spring, Ga.

Leila Eubanks Wrape, of Rock Spring, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016. She was 93.

She was a lifelong resident of the north Georgia area and was of the Methodist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Corbett R. Wrape; parents, Thomas Alec and Fannie Wrape; sisters, Dot Ray, Ruth Brooks and Betty Ivey; brother, Harvey Eubanks.

Mrs. Wrape joined Woodstatio­n Methodist Church when she was 17 and read the entire Bible many times and was also an avid reader of many books.

She loved vegetable gardening and Western movies and her little companion, Pug Bug Thelma Lou.

Survivors include: Her sons, Ronnie (Brenda) Wrape and Lewis Wrape; grandchild­ren, Sandy Wrape, Denise Wrape Brown and Tim Wrape; great-grandchild­ren, Cody, Haley, Levi, Scotty, Adam, Lisa, Dee, Caroline and Nic; greatgreat-grandchild­ren, Amidy and Zeylan.

Visitation: Saturday, June 11, from 10 a.m.1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services: Saturday, June 11, at 1 p.m., in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel.

Burial: Lafayette Memory Gardens.

George Berry, 74 Chattanoog­a, Tenn.

George Berry, of Chattanoog­a, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016. He was 74.

He was a lifelong resident of the north Georgia area and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Berry and parents, John and Rhoda Berry.

Michael C. Brown, 61 Rossville

Michael C. Brown, of Rossville, Ga., passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016. He was 61.

He attended Shields Baptist Church.

Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Brown Elsea.

Survivors include: His father, Lt. William C. Brown, retired Chattanoog­a Fire Department.

Joyce Rae Johnson, 72 Rossville

Joyce Rae Johnson, of Rossville, Ga., passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016, in a local healthcare facility. She was 72.

She was born June

30, 1943, to the late William and Dorothy Bergmann. A native of Washougal, Wash., before moving to the Rossville area in 1985, she attended Tennessee Temple Seminary in the late 60s.

Along with her husband she began working with Baptist Internatio­nal Missions as missionari­es to the Turks and Caicos Islands and Jamaica from 1971-1985. She was a member of Covenant Baptist Church. Her passions in life were serving her Lord and Savior, sewing, and reading.

Survivors include: Her husband, Rev. Marlin Johnson; three children, Bill Johnson, Gloria (Allen) Atcheson, Virginia (Roger) Bolander and “adopted” daughter, Joy Sewell; three sisters, Lois (Jim) Cobb, Shirley (David) Whetzel and Myrna (Nick) Hrynko; four grandchild­ren, Kayla (Tim) Little, Cody Atcheson, Isaac Bolander, Faith Bolander and “adopted” granddaugh­ter, Ashley Davis and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Sunday, June 12, from 2-8:30 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour in the funeral home.

Funeral services: Monday, June 13, at

John Charles Whitaker, 69 Ringgold

John Charles, “J.C.” Whitaker, of Ringgold, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, June 10, 2016. He was 69.

He was born in Bryant, Ala., to the late Horace and Dora Mae Whitaker and lived in the Ringgold area since 1980. He enjoyed watching wrestling and working on cars.

He was employed with Blackie Roach Roofing for more than 20 years and was of the Baptist faith.

He was a loving brother, father, grandfathe­r and great-grandfathe­r that will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Weldon “PeeWee” Whitaker and granddaugh­ter, Kimberly Whitaker.

Survivors include: His children, Sandy Whitaker of Summervill­e, Ga., Terry (Wendy) Whitaker and Pam (Roy) Williams all of Trion, Ga.; girlfriend, Brenda Johnson; stepchildr­en, Ronald Roach Jr., David Roach, Robin Roach and Belinda Roach all of Ringgold; sisters, Linda Conway, Deanie Whitaker of Fountain, Fla., Mary Merrill of Trenton, Ga., and Minnie Lou (Burton) Ott of Ider, Ala.; brothers, Paul (Becky) Whitaker and Gene (Sue) Whitaker all of LaFayette and Timmy Whitaker of Trenton; seven grandchild­ren, nine great-grandchild­ren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation: Saturday, June 11, from 5-7 p.m. and prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral service: Sunday, June 12, at 4 p.m. in the Wallis-Stewart Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes.

Burial will be private.
