Flash off to a fast start in 2016 CASL swim season

The Fairyland Flash is off to a fast start in the 2016 Chattanoog­a Area Swim League with two wins in their first two meets of the season.

Fairyland, who is competing in the CASL’s Red Division this season, opened its season on June 6 with a 420-314 home victory over Ringgold.

The Flash were led in scoring by Anna Ward, Ellie Taliaferro, William Jackson and Barak Goren with 19 points each. Nathan Jackson recorded 18.5 points, while Ben Bevill added 18.

Frances Bohner, Louisa Bohner and Ethan Bevill had 15 points. Andrew Horne scored 14.5 with Avery Ball turning in 14.

Other top scorers included Carley Braman, Gabriel McBryar and Alexander Grande (13 points), Annie McBryar and Morton Wingfield (11) and Jane Eiselstein, Kylie Eiselstein, Elizabeth Wilson, Charlie Byrum, Chase Holsonback and Samuel Jackson (10).

Emma Pulliam (16) and Easton O’Donnell (15) led the Tigershark­s.

Three nights later in Calhoun, the Flash slipped past the Blue Barracudas, 415.5-367.5.

Ben Bevill, Taliaferro and Ward all had 19 points for Fairyland with Ethan Bevill adding 18. McBryar and Eiselstein scored 17, while Frances Bohner picked up 16.

Chloe Edens, William Eickman, Jeremiah Petty and Matthew Petty paced Calhoun with 17 points apiece.

Harrison Barnes, William Jackson and Annie McBryar added 15 points, followed by Goren and Mary Jackson with 14, Emily Chalverus with 13, Nathan Jackson and Samuel Jackson with 12 each, Morton Wingfield and Louisa Bohner with 11 and Caroline Barnes and Henry Wingfield with 10 apiece.

Fairyland was scheduled to host Country Club on Monday, but due to newspaper deadlines, results were not available as of press time.
