COMMUNITY · A benefit for The Beginning Baptist Church and youth camp in LaFayette will be held Saturday, June 18, at 6 p.m. at the Armuchee Community Center, 11471 Ga 136, in LaFayette. Event proceeds will be used for repairs, rebuilding the sanctuary and new cabins for the youth camp that are handicap accessible. COMMUNITY · Catoosa County will hold its “Catoosa Market,” a free event for the public, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at the Northwest Georgia Bank Amphitheat­re. There will be live entertainm­ent, petting zoo, inflatable­s for kids, and more. There will also be vendors offering homemade and handmade items for sale, as well as food, drinks and produce. MEETING · The Walker County Chamber of Commerce will host its “OneWalker” membership luncheon Tuesday, June 21, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the banquet hall of the Gordon Lee Mansion, 217 Cove Road, in Chickamaug­a. During the luncheon, chamber chair Paul R. Cook will discuss One-Walker, Commission­er Bebe Heiskell will give a State of Walker County Address, city councilman Evitte Parrish will give the City of Chickamaug­a Address and Corky Jewell, chairman of the Chickamaug­a City board of education, will give a system update. Parking will be available at the Gordon Lee High School horseshoe. Check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. Cost to attend is $15 per person, which includes a meal provided by Crystal Springs Smokehouse of Chickamaug­a.
