One Walker luncheon at city of Lookout Mountain on Aug. 23

The Walker County Chamber of Commerce will host its One-Walker Membership Luncheon Tuesday, Aug. 23, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at The Lookout Mountain Fairyland Club on Lookout Mountain. Chamber Chair P. R. Cook will give an overview of the One-Walker Initiative.

One-Walker’s purpose is the “Facilitate venue and discussion­s for the cities, county and Chamber to identify best opportunit­ies for collaborat­ion.” Cook will discuss how the One-Walker initiative came about, how the group has operated to date and how they will continue to work towards a brighter future for Walker County.

Along with other speakers, one of the highlights of the luncheon will be Mike Pollock of Lula Lake Land Trust speaking on a new collabora- tive. Lula Lake Land Trust and Tennessee Aquarium Conservati­on Institute will Partner for Ridges to Rivers Initiative. He will also discuss other things going on with Lula Lake and future happenings.

Cost to attend is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. Registrati­on includes a meal provided by The Lookout Mountain Fairyland Club. Those wishing to attend must register online; registrati­on will end Sunday at midnight prior to the event and no walk-ins will be accepted.

Non-Chamber members are required to pay by Visa or MasterCard at the time of registrati­on. Refunds for cancellati­ons will not be accepted after noon on Friday, Aug. 19.
