Charles Clements Jr., 90 LaFayette

Charles Clements Jr., of LaFayette, Ga., went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, July 30, 2016. He was 90.

He was born Feb. 19, 1926, of the late Charles Clements Sr. and Ethel Clement Clements. He was a lifelong resident of LaFayette, and lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of LaFayette. He served as a deacon and taught Sunday School for many years.

Mr. Clements was a graduate of Stetson University and Cumberland School of Law. He served as a member of the Georgia House of Representa­tives, City Judge for the City of LaFayette, and was a retired judge of the State Court of Walker County and member of the Lookout Mountain Bar Associatio­n. He practiced law in Walker County in excess of 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Martha Greer Clements.

Survivors include: His sons, Charles (Chuck) Clements III and Patrick (Donna) Robert Clements and daughter, Betsy Clements Hannah all of LaFayette; grandchild­ren, Taylor, Bailey and Chaed Clements and Lindsey, Abbey, Christina and Rob Hannah; brothers, James Clements of Huntsville, Ala., and Judson Clements of Winchester, Tenn.; sister, May Juanico of Orlando, Fla., and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Monday, Aug. 1, from 4-8 p.m. at Wallis-Wilbanks and Tuesday, Aug. 2, at First Baptist Church from 1 p.m. until time of service.

A celebratio­n of life: Tuesday, Aug. 2, at 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church, LaFayette with Todd Gaddis officiatin­g.

Burial: LaFayette Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s: Judge Ralph Hill, Judge C. Donald Peppers, Hill Pope III, Guy Pope, Fred Rea and Wayne Swanson.

Honorary pallbearer­s: Lookout Mountain Bar Associatio­n.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of LaFayette, or your favorite charity.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Shepard Hills Health Care and Hospice for their wonderful care of our precious daddy and Grandpa, affectiona­tely known as Be-paw.
