Saddle Ridge sweeps Rossville

On Thursday, the varsity and JV Lady Mustangs picked up wins over Rossville. Saddle Ridge won the varsity contest, 25-9, 25-10, while the JV team earned a 25-7, 25-14 victory.

LaFayette varsity splits first two matches

The LaFayette Middle School Lady Ramblers began their 2016

volleyball season with a loss at Heritage last Tuesday, but bounced back for a solid home victory over Lakeview on Thursday.

LaFayette dropped a 25-12, 25-12 decision to the Lady Generals in the season opener. Gracelin Henry, Aubrey Blankenshi­p and Sarah Ray had one kill each in the loss, while Blankenshi­p and Bella Brown had one ace apiece.

However, they evened their record at 1-1 with a 25-16, 25-21 win over the Lady Warriors.

Blankenshi­p had three kills, three aces and a pair of digs for the Lady Ramblers.

Alex Wysong had one kill, while Henry and Ray had one ace each. Defensivel­y, Kloe Ludy and Gracie Hess each came up with two digs.

The junior varsity Lady Ramblers began their season 2-0 with a 25-12, 25-21 win over Heritage and a 2519, 25-14 victory over Lakeview.

Jada Bishop had four aces against Heritage, while Kylie Grant had three aces. Ivy Brown served up a pair of aces and Laila Hunter added one.

Against Lakeview, Brown served up six aces, followed by Bishop and Grant with three each and Abby Keys with one.
