Mitchell Ocie Snyder, 77 LaFayette
Mitchell Ocie Snyder, of Layette, Ga., passed away Friday, Aug. 12, 2016. He was 77.
He was born in LaFayette to the late Ocie Allen and Zula Elizabeth Williams Snyder. He resided in the Ringgold area for many years before moving back to LaFayette.
He was of the Church of God faith. He worked in the textile business for many years, mostly in supervision and maintenance with E.T. Barwick, Salem, MoHawk and Auto Customs. He enjoyed fishing and “wheel’n and deal’n.”
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his sons, Wesley Michael Snyder and Chris Snyder and brothers, James Glenn, Richard and Melvin Snyder.
Survivors include: His wife, Evelyn Helmes Snyder of LaFayette; daughters, Regina Snyder of Ringgold and Janet Skates of Rossville; sons, Jeffrey (Ronda) Snyder, James Allen Snyder and Brian Snyder of LaFayette; sisters, Mary (Jim) Williams and Dianne (Rod) Dodson of LaFayette; brothers, Mack (Audrey) Snyder and Stacy (Dot) Snyder of LaFayette; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Saturday, Aug. 13, from 3-9 p.m. and Sunday morning prior to the service.
Funeral services: Sunday, Aug. 14, at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Mike Wallin officiating.
Burial: Chattooga Baptist Cemetery.
