Ruby Naomi Thurman, of McDonald, Tenn., passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family. She was 93.
She was a member of Ooltewah Church of
God.
Mrs. Thurman was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Charles Thurman; daughter, Bettye Tinker of Ringgold; sonin-law, Ken Elliott of Rossville; granddaughter, Vickie Goodwin of McDonald, Tenn.; greatgrandson, Jon Tinker of Ringgold; one brother and two sisters.
Survivors include: Her four daughters, Edna Elliott of McDonald, Tenn., Charlsie (Winston) Oglesby of Ringgold, Rachel (Jimmy) Goodwin of McDonald, Tenn., and Pat (Larry) Callihan of McDonald, Tenn.; sonin-law, Carl Tinker of Ringgold; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Wednesday, Aug. 17, from 4-8 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
Funeral service: Thursday, Aug. 18, at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Edmond Stallings and Rev. Walter Bateman officiating.
Burial: Lee Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Grandsons, Mike, Chuck and David Tinker, Dee Callihan, Lamar Fisher, Ricky Oglesby, Caleb Oglesby and Josh Pettyjohn.
A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
